Wayne, NJ... The College of New Jersey women's tennis team claimed its 32^nd straight New Jersey Athletic Conference title on Sunday as the Lions topped William Paterson University 8-1.
 
Not only did TCNJ claim the conference's championship trophy, but the Lions secured an automatic bid to the 2015 NCAA Division III Tournament. The program is 5-0 this fall and have extended its conference winning streak to 159 wins, dating back to the when the NJAC began sponsoring women's tennis in 1982.
 
TCNJ plays its final conference match on Thursday, September 25 when they head to Rutgers-Newark.
 
The Lions started quickly sweeping all three points in doubles play. The first pairing of juniors Jasmine Muniz-Cadorette (Union, NJ/Union) and  Emma Allen (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) doubled up their opponents 8-4, while the second tandem of sophomore Anna Prestera (Barnegat, NJ/Barnegat) and freshman Maddy Stoner (Ewing, NJ/Ewing) won more handily at 8-1. Sophomore Katie Buchbinder (Scotch Plains, NJ/Wardlaw-Hartridge) and freshman Danna Tsay (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) polished off the sweep in doubles with an 8-0 triumph in the third position.
 
The Lions then earned five more points in singles with freshman Brittany Reedman (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown), Allen and Stoner each winning by 6-0, 6-0 scores. Buchbinder chipped in with a 6-1, 6-0 win and Prestera won 6-0, 6-1.
