Box Score Gwynedd Valley, PA... The College of New Jersey kept its season-opening win streak going on Tuesday as the Lions rattled off their eighth straight victory collecting a 4-1 win at Gwynedd Mercy University.

The win put third-ranked TCNJ at 8-0 on the season, setting up their showdown at second-ranked Salisbury University on Saturday.

The win by the Lions also halted Gwynedd Mercy's modest four-game winning streak as the dipped to 4-3 on the year.

A pair of quick-strike goals helped the guests gain the upper had with the two goals coming 2:31 apart. Senior
Victoria Martin (Clark, NJ/Arthur L. Johnson) opened the scoring 10:27 into the contest with an assist coming off of the stick of senior
Lindsey Hatch (Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.).Â
Hatch then made it 2-0 shortly thereafter with her team-leading 14
th of the season. That goal came on an assist from sophomore
Jaclyn Douglas (Malvern, PA/Great Valley).

Four minutes into the second half, sophomore
Lexi Smith (Florence, NJ/Florence Twp.) blasted a penalty corner in for her sixth of the season. Hatch again earned an assist on the play.
The Griffins countered with a goal of their own just over four minutes later, but the Lions added one more tally later in the half with sophomore
Alicia Wagner (Hopewell, Hopewell Valley) getting on the scoreboard for the second straight game.
