Ewing, NJ... The College of New Jersey women's tennis team remained undefeated on the season as the Lions picked up a 6-3 triumph over the University of Rochester on Sunday.
 
TCNJ (7-0) opened its spring schedule the previous day with win over William Smith College after sweeping through its fall matches.
 
In doubles, the Lions grabbed the lead winning in the first two positions for a 2-1 lead. Juniors Jasmine Muniz-Cadorette (Union, NJ/Union) and Emma Allen (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) won 8-4 in the top spot, while the second pairing of freshmen Brittany Reedman (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) and Maddy Stoner (Ewing, NJ/Ewing) won by that identical score.
 
In singles play, The Yellowjackets (4-6) tied the match with a win at first position, but TCNJ claimed four of the final five matches to earn the win. Reedman won 6-4, 6-1 at second singles and Allen had a strong match in the third slot, winning 6-0, 6-1. For the second straight day, Stoner recorded the deciding match with a 7-5, 6-3 decision at fifth singles and sophomore Anna Prestera (Barnegat, NJ/Barnegat) collected an exciting 6-2, 7-5 in the sixth spot to cap off the win.
 
The Lions seek their eight straight win to start the season on Friday, April 3 when they hosts Swarthmore College at 4 p.m.
