Amherst, MA... The College of New Jersey women's tennis team saw its run in the 2015 NCAA Division III Tournament come to an end on Saturday as the Lions fell to ninth-ranked Johns Hopkins University, 5-1.
Â
The loss snapped TCNJ's modest winning streak at six straight as they finish the season with a lofty record of 15-2.
Â
With the win, the Blue Jays (18-4) advance to the third round of the tournament where they face Amherst College, which is the host institution for the opening weekend of action.
Â
The Lions trailed 2-1 following the doubles matches with the top pairing of juniors
Jasmine Muniz-Cadorette (Union, NJ/Union) and
Emma Allen (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) earning an 8-1 victory.
Â
Johns Hopkins then won the first two matches completed in singles play to secure the win.
Â
The future looks bright for TCNJ as they did not have a senior on the team and their entire line-up is expected back when the new season begins in the fall.
