Lions shutout Neumann University, 13-0

Aston, Pa… The College of New Jersey women's lacrosse team (4-0) continued its streak of dominant victories, securing a 13-0 decision over Neumann University (1-2).on Saturday afternoon in Aston,  Pa.

The Lions took command of the match early, surging to a 12-0 first-half advantage on 16 shots on goal. TCNJ struck once more in the second period to complete the offensive outburst as they outshot the Knights, 19-1.

Erin Waller (Washington Twp., NJ/Washington Twp.) led an aggressive offense, netting four goals and one assist in the triumph. Senior attacker Cortney Natalicchio (New Egypt, NJ/New Egypt) also added three goals and an assist to the Lion's scoresheet.

Senior midfielder Megan Devlin (Marmora, NJ/Ocean City) set the tone early with the first Lion tally just over two minutes into the first on a Waller assist.

But the college was secured by a stout defense, as sophomore defender Elizabeth Morrison (Stonington, CT/Stonington) recorded five groundballs, three draw controls and two caused turnovers. Freshman midfielder Erin Harvey (Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape) assisted both sides of the field, grabbing six ground balls, an assist and the final Lion score of the match. Rookie goalie Miranda Chrone (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) was forced to make only one save in 60 minutes of play for her first collegiate shutout.

Sophomore Emily Kratz (Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville) netted two first-half goals and an assist on Amanda Muller's point. Freshman midfielder Abby Flagler (Califon, NJ/Voorhees) also followed suit with the Lion's 10th tally off a Waller assist with just over five minutes left before halftime.

The Lions hold the No. 5 NCAA ranking among Division III programs going into their home opener on Saturday, March 19 at 1 p.m. against No. 6 Gettysburg College in Lions Stadium.
