Fredericksburg, Va … The College of New Jersey women's tennis team encountered a tough opponent in Case Western Reserve University as they dropped an 8-1 decision at the second day of the Blue-Grey Invitational hosted by Mary Washington University.

The #29 Lions (8-2) came out on the short end of three tight doubles matches, falling 8-6 in a pair and 8-5 in the third. The 21
st-ranked Spartans raised their record to 7-2 on the season.

Alyssa Baldi (Mahwah, NJ/Mahwah) notched the lone victory for TCNJ. She cruised to a win in straight sets 6-3, 6-2. Classmate

Taylor Sweeney to three sets after claiming the opening set 7-6 (7-5).

TCNJ plays its final match of the tournament against Bates (3-4) tomorrow at noon. The Bobcats also lost to Case Western, 8-1 on Friday.
