Ewing, NJ... The College of New Jersey women's lacrosse team won their seventh-straight game by defeating Rowan University, 9-0 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference matchup on Tuesday, April 19 in Lion's Stadium.
The Lion's improve their record to 14-1 and 4-0 in the NJAC and Rowan dropped their overall record to 8-5 and 2-1 in the conference.
TCNJ dominated the first half, shutting out Rowan, 7-0. The second half highlighted an effective Rowan defense, giving up just two more goals to the college.
The Lions wasted little time as sophomore attacker
Emily Kratz (Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville) picked up a groundball in the Prof's defensive zone and sniped it into the back of the net to put the college up, 1-0 at 3:24 in the first.
Rowan's defense held tight after that, holding off an energetic Lion offense for over 10 minutes as the Prof's sophomore goalie
Erin Horner came up big with two tough saves.
Sophomore
Amanda Muller (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) snapped the drought at 17:01 with the Lion's second goal of the night.
Sophomore midfielder
Elizabeth Morrison (Stonington, CT/Stonington) led the Lion's defensive effort, picking up nine groundballs, three draw controls and causing six turnovers. At 16:32 Morrison made an offensive run herself by causing a turnover, picking up the groundball, sprinting it down the field about 40 yards and drilling it into Rowan's net for the Lion's third goal.
TCNJ closed out the half, 7-0 with goals from junior attacker

Kathleen Jaeger (Whitehouse Station, NJ/Hunterdon Central) and back-to-back tallies by senior attacker
Cortney Natalicchio (New Egypt, NJ/New Egypt) on assists from Jaeger and senior midfielder
Megan Devlin (Marmora, NJ/Ocean City). Natalicchio now has 130 career goals which ranks 25
th all-time in the Lion's program history.
Rowan entered the second half with a tougher presence on defense, keeping the college at bay for a full 14 minutes until Devlin netted one at 16:29. Muller struck again just 1:08 later to increase the Lion's dominant lead, 9-0.
Freshman goalie
Miranda Chrone (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) made six saves in the shutout. Rowan's Horner played well under pressure, recording seven saves in the contest.
TCNJ hits the road next to take on Stockton University on Tuesday, April 26 in Pomona, NJ at 7:30 p.m.
