Middlebury, V.T. – The College of New Jersey advanced in the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Tournament with a 5-0 victory over Baruch on the Proctor Tennis Courts at Middlebury College. With the win, their overall record improves to 13-4.

TCNJ swept all three doubles matches, grabbing a 3-0 lead. Anna Prestera (Barnegat, NJ/Barnegat) and Alyssa Baldi (Mahwah, NJ/Mahwah) picked up the first point at third doubles in a win by default. A few minutes later, Emma Allen (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) and Sneha Rangu (East Windsor, NJ/Mercer County Health Science Academy) made the score 2-0 with an 8-0 victory in the second flight.

Moments later, the duo of Grace Minassian (Closter, NJ/Northern Valley Demarest) and Maddy Stoner (Ewing, NJ/Ewing) posted an 8-3 triumph in first singles over Baruch's Allie Jackson-Hing and Isabel Arias.

In the singles matches, the Lions picked up their fourth point with a win by default at #6. Prestera clinched the match for TCNJ with a 6-0, 6-0 triumph in the third spot.

The remaining four matches went unfinished. Brittany Reedman (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) led by a 3-2 score in the opening set at first singles, while Allen was up by a set (6-0) and led 3-0 against Arias at the second spot. Baldi also led by a set (6-0) and grabbed the first game of the second set in the fourth slot, while Emily Szkudlarski (Belle Mead, NJ/Montgomery) secured the first set (6-0) and was ahead 3-0 when the match was decided.

The Lions will now face Middlebury (13-4) in the second round of the tournament tomorrow, May 13 at 11 a.m.
