Lions Drop Conference Meet

Montclair, NJ… The College of New Jersey women's swimming and diving team suffered its first loss of the 2017-18 season, dropping a 167-132 decision Friday night. The Lions fall to 1-1 overall and 0-1 in New Jersey Athletic Conference competition, while the Red Hawks improve to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in conference meets.
 
Hannah Raymond (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township) had an historic effort in the diving well, setting pool records in both the 6- and 11-dive formats. Raymond posted a score of 276.80 in the 6-dive and 481.15 after 11-dives.
 
Annie Menninger (Plainsboro, NJ/West Windsor Plainsboro-South) has a strong meet in the loss, taking home both the 500- and 1,000-freestyle events. Menninger won in 5:28.46 and 11:14.66 respectively.
 
Jamie Bowne (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) had a solid meet narrowly missing the sweep in the butterfly. Bowne took home first place in the 200 in a time of 2:19.42. She went on to finish second in the 100, just .2 off the winning time.
 
The Lions return home Saturday, November 4 when the Lions host Ramapo College at 2:00 PM.
