Ewing, NJ… The College of New Jersey women's swimming team continued to get big contributions from its younger members, rolling to a 169.5-90.5 victory over Ramapo College Saturday afternoon. The Lions improve to 2-1 overall and 1-1 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. The Roadrunners fall to 1-2 overall and 1-1 in the conference.

Freshman
Jamie Bowne (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) was absolutely dominant, winning three individual events and swimming on the winning all-freshman 400-medley relay. Bowne took the 1,000-free in a time of 11:42.46. She then took home the 100-fly in 1:01.44, and ended the meet winning the 200-IM stopping the clock at 2:21.26.

Melanie Fosko (North Brunswick, NJ/North Brunswick) was equally impressive, joining Bowne in the relay then winning the 100-breast in 1:10.77 beating teammate
Annie Menninger (Plainsboro, NJ/West Windsor Plainsboro South) by .01. Fosko then swam away from the field in the 500-free, winning by more than seven seconds. She ended her day as part of the winning 200-free relay team.

Menninger went on to take the 200-breast in 2:34.10, beating the field by over four seconds.

Jillian Galindo (Millstone Township, NJ/Allentown) notched a victory in the 200-fly.

The Lions return to competition November 18 at 11:30 AM. The team will compete in a tri-meet with Johns Hopkins University and New York University.
