ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Over the weekend,
Beth Evaldi,
Melody Lin,
Hannah Simons, and
Jenna Ringel traveled to RIT for the NCAA Diving Regionals. Evaldi highlighted the weekend by most likely securing herself a first alternate selection for nationals this year.
Evaldi, who will graduate as a 4-time regional qualifier, put in a 3-meter performance which will likely make her first alternate for nationals. She amassed 420.80 points to place a team-best seventh out of 27 competitors. In the 1-meter, Evaldi placed 11
th (390.25). Her fellow senior Lin placed 20
th in both the 1-meter (351.40) and the 3-meter (363.05), in what was her second time
The sophomore duo of Simons and Ringel were both first-timers to regional competition. Simons posted a 336.65 in the 1-meter to place 24
th; in the 3-meter, Simons placed 26
th with a score of 306.95. Ringel logged 320.10 points (28
th) in the 1-meter and 335.80 (25
th) in the 3-meter.
With regionals in the rearview mirror, the 2025-26 season officially comes to end for all but one of Lion on the TCNJ women's diving team. On Monday, March 2, Evaldi will hope to notch one more accolade to her career once national qualifiers are announced.
