Lawrenceville, NJ ... The College of New Jersey women's tennis team took a short ride to Division I Rider University and returned home with a 6-1 victory.
The Lions (11-2) captured four of five singles matches and won two of three double competitions to earn the team point in doubles. Each singles winner posted straight set victories to combine for a dominant performance on the Lawrenceville campus.
Sophomore
Sneha Rangu ( East Windsor, NJ / Mercer County Health Science Academy) cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 triumph at first singles, while
Katie Buchbinder (Scotch Plains, NJ/Wardlaw-Hartridge) won 6-3, 6-1 at third singles.
Anna Prestera (Barnegat, NJ/Barnegat) was near perfect with a 6-1, 6-0 victory, while
Alyssa Baldi (Mahwah, NJ/Mahwah) and
Mackenzie Holleran (Allendale, NJ/Northern Highland) topped their opponents 6-2, 6-1 and 6-3, 6-0.
Prestera and Baldi teamed up to win 6-0 at second doubles and Rangu and
Audrey Chen (West Windsor, NJ/West Windsor North) registered a 6-1 win.
TCNJ will host New York University on Thursday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. in the TCNJ Tennis Complex.
