Ewing, NJ ... The College of New Jersey women's tennis team engaged in a great match with New York University and came up on the short end, falling 5-4 on Thursday afternoon in the TCNJ Tennis Complex.
The Lions (11-3) netted two wins in doubles play, but the Violets (7-3) came out on top in four of six singles matches to garner the road win.
Juniors
Maddy Stoner (Ewing, NJ/Ewing) and
Danna Tsay (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) won an exciting match at first doubles. Tied at seven games apiece, Stoner and Tsay dug deep for a 9-7 victory to earn the team point. Senior
Anna Prestera (Barnegat, NJ/Barnegat) and sophomore Alysaa Baldi (Mahwah, NJ/Mahwah) also battled their way to an 8-5 triumph at second doubles.

Sneha Rangu (East Windsor, NJ/Mercer County Health Science Academy) won their singles matches in straight sets. Baldi and
Mackenzie Holleran (Allendale, NJ/Northern Highland) took their opponents to the wire, but fell in hard-fought third sets 6-3 and 6-4.
TCNJ returns to action at Lafayette College next Wednesday afternoon for a 3:30 p.m. match.
