EWING, N.J. – In the 2018-19 season opener, The College of New Jersey women's swimming & diving team fell to conference opponent Montclair State University by a final score of 168-126 .
Annie Menninger took first place in the 500-Free as she swam to a time of 5:31. Right behind her was
Melanie Fosko who clocked in at 5:32.
Zoe Chan put forth a strong first collegiate meet, as she placed first in the 200-Fly and 100-Fly. She topped seven competitors in the 200-Fly with a time of 2:12.41, and took first of seven in the 100-Fly as well as she stopped the clock at 59.57. Also swimming in her first collegiate meet was
Kori Jelinek, who took second in the 200-Fly with a mark of 2:20.
Freshman
Meagan Healey placed second in the 200-Free with a time of 2:05.20, and right behind her was
Kelsey Ballard who finished at 2:05.33.
The Lions' 200-Medley Relay team took second place, as the squad of
Hailey Thayer, Menninger, Chan, and
Kazia Moore swam to a time of 1:53.
Next up for TCNJ is another New Jersey Athletic Conference meet, this time at Ramapo College on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 2:00 p.m.
