Ewing, NJ... The College of New Jersey women's tennis team knocked off Division I opponent Rider University 8-1 Thursday afternoon. The Lions maintained their undefeated record, improving to 6-0 on the season, while the Broncs dropped to 1-8.
The Lions got off to a strong start in doubles play with
Alyssa Baldi (Mahwah, NJ/Mahwah) and
Sneha Rangu (East Windsor, NJ/Mercer County Health Science Academy) teaming up for an 8-2 win and
Grace Minassian (Closter, NJ/Northern Valley Demarest) and
Maddy Stoner (Ewing, NJ/Ewing) winning 8-4.
TCNJ swept singles play all in straight sets led by Baldi's 6-1, 6-0 win and Stoner's 6-2, 6-0 victory.
The Lions return to action Saturday when they travel to Swarthmore College for a 3:00 PM start.
