Williamstown, MA… The College of New Jersey women's tennis team advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament Thursday morning, defeating Grove City College 5-0. The Lions are making their 12
th straight trip to the second round of the tournament. TCNJ is now 14-1 on the season, while the Wolverines fall to 13-4.

The Lions got off to a quick start in doubles play. 2016 ITA All-Americans
Maddy Stoner (Ewing, NJ/Ewing) and
Grace Minassian (Closter, NJ/Northern Valley Demarest) made quick work of their opponents in an 8-3 victory at number one.
Sneha Rangu (East Windsor, NJ/Mercer County Health Science Academy) and
Alyssa Baldi (Mahwah, NJ/Mahwah) then earned an 8-5 win at number two.
Andrea Giacobbo (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) and
Danna Tsay (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) completed the sweep, winning 8-5 at number three.

In singles play, all six Lions won their opening sets.
Audrey Chen (West Windsor, NJ/West Windsor North) completed her match first, winning 6-1, 6-1. Baldi then clinched the team victory securing a 6-0, 6-1 result.

The Lions will face Johns Hopkins University in the second round. TCNJ squared off against the Blue Jays a season ago in the second round with Johns Hopkins earning a 5-1 win.
