GENEVA, N.Y. – The College of New Jersey tennis team competed in day two of the ITA Northeast Regional tournament Sunday. The Lions struggled, falling in all four of the matches they competed in.

Overall in the tournament, the Lions finished with a 5-5 singles record and 5-3 doubles record.

The Lions have now completed their fall season. The spring season will kick off on Feb. 15.

Liya Davidov
Â
Davidov ran in to the hottest player at the regional in Coco Kulle of NYU in the round of 16. Kulle dropped a total of just three games in the first two rounds. She continued her impressive run topping Davidov 6-1 in the first set. Davidov was unable to fare much better in set two falling 6-2.

The trip to the round of 16 is the second straight for Davidov after she reached the quarterfinals as a freshman. Davidov ends her fall season 8-2 in singles play. For her career, Davidov is 28-8 in singles play.

Charlotte Roarty

Roarty matched up against third seeded Anna Maria Buraya of NYU in the third round. Roarty was unable to gather any momentum in the match, falling 6-2, 6-0.

In her freshman season, Roarty finished 8-1 in singles play during the fall season.

Liya Davidov and Katrine Luddy
Â
Davidov and Luddy fought hard in the quarterfinals against top-seeded Anastasiia Balyk and Anna Maria Buraya of NYU. The duo fought hard, but eventually fell after pushing the duo further than any team in the tournament, dropping an 8-6 match.

The run maarks a second straight quarterfinal run for the sophomore duo. Davidov was 11-3 in the fall of 2019 to improve to 36-8 in doubles play for her career. Luddy ends her fall season 11-2 to get to 32-7 for her doubles career.

Jenny Landells and Charlotte Roarty
Â
Landells and Roarty faced Miriam Gandham and Sarra Yekta of Vassar in the quarterfinals. Landells and Roarty would come on the wrong end of an 8-2 match.

Landells finishes her freshman fall with a 10-3 doubles record. Roarty closes out her first fall season with a 10-4 doubles record.
