This fall, TCNJ Athletics is looking back on memorable games, moments, and milestones throughout its prestigious history. Today's This Week in TCNJ History moment dates back to Oct. 14, 2017. The TCNJ women's cross country team took first place in the Gettysburg Invitational. The Lions grabbed the title with a first-place finish out of 31 teams. Natalie Cooper led the way for TCNJ with a second place finish out of 282 runners. The Lions placed four runners in the top 10.
TCNJ enjoyed a successful 2017 season. The Lions won the NJAC Championship and competed in the NCAA Division III Championships. Cooper earned All-America honors at nationals with a 28th place finish out of 279 runners.

Gettysburg, PA-- The College of New Jersey women's cross country team ran in the Gettysburg College Invitational on Saturday. The Lions saw tremendous success, as the women's team took the title finishing in first place out of 31 teams.
Leading the way with a strong race wasÂ
Natalie Cooper (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) who finished in second place overall with a time of 22:35.Â
Madeleine Tattory (Delran NJ, Delran) followed that up in fifth place with a time of 22:50. Taking eighth place with a time of 22:59 wasÂ
Gabby Devito (Tinton Falls, NJ/Monmouth), andÂ
Erin Holzbaur (Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville) was right behind in ninth place as she clocked in at 23:06.Â
Abigail Faith (Freehold Twp., NJ/Freehold) claimed 17th place and timed in at 23:42, whileÂ
Emma Bean (Linwood, NJ/Maryland Regional) grabbed 24th place and finished with a time of 24:01.Â
MaryKate Bailey (Allentown, NJ/Notre Dame) closed out the Lions' scoring places as she took 53rd place and stopped the clock 24:46. There were 282 total participants in the women's 6k.
