KANSAS CITY – Randall Walko of the TCNJ men's basketball team has been named National Association of Basketball Coaches Atlantic District Player of the Year. On Tuesday, the NABC announced its complete list of NCAA Division III All-District teams and coaches, recognizing the best men's collegiate basketball student-athletes and coaches in the division, selected by member coaches of the NABC in NCAA Division III. Walko was also named First Team All-Atlantic District.

Walko put forth an outstanding senior season for the Lions. He averaged 21.9 points per game as well as 6.7 rebounds per game. Walko also shot 45.6% from the field, and 38% from three-point range on the season. He ranked 28^th in all of NCAA Division III in scoring. The Somerville, N.J. product also ranked eighth in Division III in made free throws with 181 and posted a shooting mark of 85.4% from the charity stripe. He scored 30 points or more in six games and 20 points or more in 18 games.

Walko's efforts were a major part of a historic year for TCNJ. The Lions won their first NJAC Championship and made their first NCAA Tournament appearance since the 1997-98 season. In the first round of the tournament, the Lions defeated Marietta for the program's first tournament win since the 1988-89 season.

The superb senior season capped off a terrific career for Walko. He finished fifth all-time in TCNJ history in scoring with 1,537 points. He also finished third in program history in three-pointers with 193 and ninth in rebounding with 537 rebounds.

The awards have been rolling in all season for Walko. He was also named NJAC Pony Wilson Player of the Year, as well as First Team All-NJAC. He also earned D3hoops.com First Team All-Atlantic Region honors. Walko took home six NJAC Player of the Week honors this season.
