ROME, Ga. - TCNJ women's tennis stars Jenny Landells and Charlotte Roarty won their third and final match at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Cup doubles championship on Friday, securing a 13th-place national finish for the fall season.

Landells and Roarty became the first Lions doubles duo to win a match at nationals since Karisse Bendijo and Allison Tierney placed third in 2010, rolling to a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Wisconsin-Whitewater's Autumn Bruno and Cassie Lee in their last match of the championship held at the Rome Tennis Center.

The Lions' accomplished tandem qualified for the ITA Cup with a scintillating run through the Northeast regional, winning back-to-back tiebreakers in the second round and quarterfinals before punching their ticket with an 8-2 rout of a team from Rochester. The champion and runner-up from each of the eight regionals earned berths to the newly reformatted ITA Cup.

Landells and Roarty came close to locking up All-American status, given to the top-eight finishers. They snagged the first set of Thursday night's first-round match against Carnegie Mellon's Ava Givone and Crystal Zhou, 6-3, but the Tartans' first-year pairing rallied to claim the second, 6-2. Landells and Roarty came up just short, 10-5, in the deciding super tiebreaker as Givone and Zhou advanced to the quarterfinals. They ultimately made it to the semifinals before falling to the NYU team that defeated Landells and Roarty in the regional final.

The TCNJ tandem suffered a 7-5, 6-2 setback at the hands of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Elaine Franta and Lindsey Henderson in their second match on Friday morning.
