Women's Swimming Stays on Top After Day 2

The TCNJ women's swimming and dive team is still on top after the second day of their annual TCNJ Invitational weekend. They rank first with a score of 834 total points, followed by Merchant Marine in a distant second with 536.5.

Finishing the finals for the 100 fly in the top three spots were Zoe Chan (56.25), Jamie Bowne (58.36), and Kori Jelinek (58.76). Chan's time is good for seventh in all of Division III.

The 100 breaststroke final was won by Haley Crispell, who notched a personal-best time of 1:08.03. Sarah Burton placed fourth with a personal-best 1:13.42.

All of TCNJ's 200 medley relay teams qualified for the final heat. TCNJ's A relay featuring Rachel Hannah, Crispell,  Chan, and Shannon Hesse won the race with a time of 1:49.68.

Autumn-Brook Tucker finished first in the 400 IM with a time of 4:48.86, a new collegiate best.

Cameron Carrazza led a 1-2-3 finish in the 200 free with a time of 1:58.95. Hesse (1:59.05) and Faith Cortright (1:59.88) were close behind, taking second and third. Allison Lowry (2:02.18) and Mackenzie Wall (2:03.54) placed fifth and sixth, respectively.

Brianna Hatzold came in first for the 200 freestyle consolation heat with a time of 2:03.82. Kayla Jelinek also finished first in the consolation heat for the 100 backstroke (1:06.17).

For the finals of the 100 backstroke, Hannah took first with a time of 59.81. Julia Spanfelner (1:02.69), Sofia Harty (1:02.82), and Colleen Scanlon (1:02.97) were all neck-and-neck in the fourth through sixth positions.

The women finished the night off strong by placing first in the 800 freestyle relay finals with their team A consisting of Bowne, Tucker, Chan, and Cortright (8:04.76). 

The TCNJ invitational wraps up Sunday with prelims at 9 a.m. and finals at 2 p.m.
