LEXINGTON, Va. – The TCNJ women's tennis team advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the 14
th-straight season on Friday afternoon, topping Franciscan 5-0. The win improves the Lions record this season to 11-0, while the Lady Barons drop to 8-4 to close out the season.

In doubles play, the Lions jumped all over the Lady Barons early, with
Liya Davidov and
Katrine Luddy breaking the opening serve at first doubles and
Chase Eisenberg and
Alexa Vasile doing the same at number three. At second doubles,
Charlotte Roarty and
Jenny Landells did not drop a single game to score the first team point for TCNJ. Eisenberg and Vasile followed quickly, ending their match 8-1. Davidov and Luddy were locked in a battle midway through the set before the pair caught fire for an 8-4 victory.

In singles play,
Chase Eisenberg was the first Lion to finish, winning 6-1, 6-1 at number four. Vasile ended the match with a 6-1, 6-0 win at sixth singles. The other four matches went unfinished, but were trending in the Lions' favor as TCNJ was up a set in all four matches.

With the victory the Lions move on to face the host Generals of Washington & Lee on Saturday at 1 p.m.
