EWING, N.J. –  The TCNJ women's tennis team began the 2021 season with a tight 5-4 victory over SUNY New Paltz on Wednesday.

Chase Eisenberg earned the match-clinching point at singles number three when she took home a 6-2, 7-5 victory.

In doubles action, Anusha Rangu and Alexa Vasile came through with an 8-2 victory at number two. Aira Abalos and Jenny Landells pulled out a tight 8-7, (8-6) tiebreaker win at number three.

At singles number four was Rangu who tallied a 6-2, 6-3 victory. Also taking home a singles victory was Morgan Grimme, who earned a 6-2, 6-2, win at number six.

With today's win, TCNJ has improved its home winning streak to 17 matches. The Lions have not lost at home since April 7, 2019.

TCNJ will return to the court for a pair of scrimmages this weekend against Wilmington on Sept. 11 and Johns Hopkins on Sept. 12.
