GLASSBORO, N.J. – Despite three individual victories and a relay win to boot for Zoe Chan, the TCNJ women's swimming team fell just short, 157-139, in an NJAC thriller at Rowan on Saturday.

Chan finished first in the 100 fly, the 200 fly, and the 200 IM as well as the 200 medley relay for the Lions, who suffered their first conference setback of the season.
Rachel Hannah won the 100 back and Gabi Valladares prevailed in both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives for TCNJ.

The Lions got off to a fast start, with Hannah, Haley Crispell, Zoe Chan, and Shannon Hesse swimming to a dominating first-place effort in the 200 medley relay; their time of 1:51.13 was more than two seconds clear of the runner-up relay from Rowan.

Autumn-Brook Tucker scored a massive PR in the 1000 free, placing second with a time of 11:15.10 that shaved more than 20 seconds off her previous best.

Hannah claimed first place with a 1:01.23 in the 100 back, where Meg Healey (1:02.81) and Colleen Scanlon (1:03.08) took third and fourth, respectively. Healey and Scanlon also came in third and fourth in the 200 back.

Crispell was runner-up in the 100 breast (1:10.90) and 200 breast (2:33.80).

Chan turned in a dominating performance in the 200 fly, touching the wall in 2:06.80 to outpace the nearest Prof by almost six full seconds.

Valladares put her stamp on both diving events, scoring 253.15 in the 1-meter and 261.85 on 3-meter. She outscored the runner-up by 82 points in the former and by more than 100 in the latter.

Shannon Hesse came in a close second to TCNJ men's swimmer James McChesney's sister, Jordan, in the 50 free; Hesse clocked in at 24.18, just .06 seconds off the pace set by the Prof. McChesney and Hesse were also 1-2 in the 100 free, where Hesse's 54.58 was almost two seconds behind the Rowan sprinter.

Cameron Carazza (2:02.68) and Jamie Bowne (2:02.75) finished third and fourth, respectively, in the 200 free.

Chan was similarly dominant in the 100 fly, finishing in 56.61 to headline a 1-2-3 sweep for the Lions, with Bowne (1:01.01) and Kori Jelinek (1:01.54) following behind. The senior then came back to win the 200 IM in 2:13.69, more than two seconds clear of Rowan's runner-up.

Bowne, Carazza, Hesse, and Hannah closed the meet with a second-place showing in the 400 free relay (3:40.65).
