STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The TCNJ women's track and field team got a preview of the NJAC indoor championship site and a taste of Division I competition on Friday as the Lions took part in Albany's Great Dane Invitational.
The Lions produced a number of strong performances against a field loaded with Division I representatives at the Ocean Breeze Track and Field Facility, which will host the NJAC championship meet in a little more than three weeks.
Megan Gasnick chopped nearly a tenth of a second off her PR in the 60-meter dash, moving into third on the NJAC performance list with a time of 8.07.
Amanda Demko notched an indoor PR in the 400-meter dash (59.09), placing eighth overall for the Lions' highest individual finish of the day.
Alli Uhl landed in 10
th place with a 59.34.
Demko also led TCNJ in the 200-meter dash, crossing the line in an even 26.00 seconds.
Maria Grill finished in 26.47 and
Ashlyn MacLure tallied an indoor personal-best 26.63.
Gasnick, Uhl, Demko, and Grill finished the night with a 3:58.10 to place fourth in the 4x400-meter relay.
Eliza Bruncaj completed the 60-meter hurdles in 9.37 seconds.
Salini Iyer marked a new personal best in the mile with a 5:21.61.
Jazzlyn Diaz was less than a second off her PR in the 3,000 meters (10:57.54), where
Cassidy Quinn made her debut with an 11:09.81.
Elsewhere, the Lions sent a small contingent to Widener to compete in the weight throw as part of Haverford's McElligott Invitational.
Jessica Reilly placed fourth with a heave of 13.90 meters, and
Kerri McCarthy notched a personal-best 11.88 meters.
Emily Diszler recorded a mark of 11.68 meters, and
Edith Gonzalez earned a new PR at 9.86 meters.
