INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The quartet of
Lucia Garcia-Beltran,
Mackenzie Burke,
Kelsey Thomas, and
Petra Doherty will represent the TCNJ women's track and field team at the NCAA Outdoor Championships which begin on Thursday, May 21.
Garcia-Beltran punched her ticket to three events — the 100, 200, and 4x100. Her 100 time of 11.74 is tied for 11
th in DIII, while her 200 time of 24.19 stands at 12
th. She also anchored the Lions' 4x400 at the NJAC Outdoor Championships which logged a time of 46.83 to qualify for nationals.
Burke also qualified for multiple events, punching her ticket to nationals in the 400 hurdles and the 4x100. Burke set her qualifying time just in time this outdoor season, as she posted a 1:01.40 (17
th in DIII) on May 10 at the Widener Final Qualifier. These two NCAA qualifications are the first of her career.
Finally, Thomas and Doherty ran in the 4x100 at the NJAC Outdoor Championships with Garcia-Beltran and Doherty. They will both also run at nationals for the first time in their collegiate careers.
The NCAA Outdoor Championships will take place from Thursday, May 21 to Saturday, May 23, in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
