Lavin Resets Shot Put Record, Women's T&F Concludes Final Tune-Up Before Regionals

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass.; AZUSA, Calif.; GALLOWAY, N.J.; CHESTER, Pa. – The TCNJ women's track and field squad competed over four different meets in four days, putting in the work in their final action before the regional meet. Allison Lavin highlighted the busy four days for the Lions, upping the program shot put record mark.

  • Lavin posted a mark of 13.37m in the shot put, better her own program record as a result.
  • Breanna Casais finished runner-up in the 400 (1:00.86, season best) and fourth in the 200 (27.36).
  • Mackenzie Burke (1:04.13) and Casey Noonan (1:05.03) went 1-2 in the 400 hurdles.
 
FARLEY INTER-REGIONAL MEET
  • Naesha Gadie paced the Lions in the 1500, placing 27th in 4:58.96. Alex Grivas (34th, 5:02.30) and Ava Biemuller (36th, 5:08.60) crossed the finish line a few seconds after Gadie.

WIDENER FINAL QUALIFIER
  • Burke considerably boosted her hopes of qualifying for NCAAs, posting a time of 1:01.40 in the 400 hurdles. The time stands inside the top 20 fastest marks in the event so far this year. Noonan also put up a solid time in the event, clocking 1:04.39.
  • Breanna Omert placed 6th in the 400 (59.55).
  • Kelly O'Grady finished in 20th in the 800 (2:14.15).
  • Ella Feehan (12:31.18) and Taylor Rooney (13:04.82) placed 12th and 14th respectively in the steeplechase.
