NEW YORK, N.Y.- Jason Engler's first-place run for the second year in a row in the 400-meter dash was at the forefront of a strong performance for the TCNJ men's indoor track and field team Saturday evening at the Armory.

Engler took first with a time of 50.58, beating his mark of 52.12 from a season ago at this same meet. Freshman
Peter Fragomeni finished in eighth with a time of 54.59.

Roman Rychkov came in second in the 600-meter run, finishing the race in 1:21.
Sean Burtnett took fourth place crossing the finish line just two seconds after Rychkov at the 1:23 mark. Jeff Heineman came in fifth place, trailing Burtnett by just nine-tenths of a second.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Heineman, Burtnett, Rychkov and Engler secured second place in their opening day race with a time of 3:20.82.

Junior
Luke Schrank-Garcia headlined the throwing team with a third-place finish in the weight throw with a distance of 14.37 meters.

Thomas Domozych and Raymond Schmitt had nearly identical times in the 60-meter dash, coming in fourth and fifth respectively with times of 6.94 and 6.95.

Senior
Andrew Lodge finished in fourth place of the 300-meter run, completing the race in 35.35 seconds.

Freshman
Vincent Rizzi took eighth place in his long jump debut with a mark of 6.39 meters.

TCNJ track and field is off and running again next weekend at the Joe Handleman Invitational in Princeton, N.J.
