2/12/2022 8:58:00 PM

BOSTON – The TCNJ men's track and field team was in two places at once on Saturday, and the Lions brought home plenty of personal bests and top performances from both.

TCNJ competed at Boston University's David Hemery Valentine Invitational and wrapped up the second and final day of Monmouth's Winter Collegiate Invitational.

Valentine Invitational
In Boston, Andrew Lodge ran a career-best 49.91 in the 400, which currently ranks second in the NJAC but could drop slightly when adjusted for track size. Jason Engler dropped more than a second off his PR, finishing in 50.18 seconds.

Engler also clocked an 8.79 in the 60-meter hurdles.

Tyler Scott paced the Lions with a 22.28-second 200-meter dash, .01 seconds off his PR. Lodge's 22.46 marked another personal best, while Raymond Schmitt easily tallied a new PR with a 22.77 and Justin Gomez secured one of his own at 22.84.

Roman Rychkov posted a PR in the 800, where his time of 1:53.46 is likely to rank around the top-10 in the nation even after adjusting for track size. Sean Burtnett clocked a 1:56.09.

Schmitt (7.23), Scott (7.27), and Gomez (7.33) also ran the 60-meter dash.

Kevin Christensen notched a big PR with a 4:18.75 in the mile, and Michael Rodriguez also outperformed his previous career best with a 4:23.13.

Monmouth Winter Collegiate Invitational
James Blair matched his career best with an 8.69 in the 60-meter hurdles.

John Raisley finished the mile in 4:28.47, and Andrew Chamberlain ran a personal-best 4:31.10.

Jahmir Anderson cracked the NJAC top-10 with a mark of 12.23 meters in his triple jump debut. Daniel Gleason was close behind at 12.19 meters. Anderson also cleared 1.80 meters in the high jump.

Warlys Lizardo headlined the weight throw contingent with a mark of 13.04 meters, while Luke Schrank-Garcia (12.63 meters) and Brandon Kuse (12.21) each posted a personal best.

Tom Domozych placed eighth in the pole vault with a season-best mark of 4.10 meters.

George Agyei-Sam was close to a PR in the shot put at 13.52 meters. Stephen Daramola's 13.05-meter toss was a big PR, with Schrank-Garcia (12.67 meters) and Kuse (12.17) also recording career bests.
