WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – The TCNJ women's track and field team finished up a busy weekend with a solid collective effort on the second and final day of the Monmouth Winter Collegiate Invitational on Saturday.
Karla Gomez-Matos matched her PR with an 8.20-second sprint in the 60-meter dash, enough to qualify for the finals, where she placed sixth at 8.23 seconds.
Erin Buqiucchio placed second in the 200-meter dash (27.28).
Sarah Tuohy scored a personal best in the 800 at 2:29.12.
On the distance side,
Cassidy Quinn marked a new PR in the 3k for the second meet in a row, crossing the finish line in 10:51.10.
Nicole Lester jumped to second in the NJAC with a substantial personal best in the pole vault (3.50m).
Jessica Reilly led the Lions with a 13.81-meter toss in the weight throw.
Emily Diszler moved into sixth in the NJAC with a big PR of 13.21 meters, nearly a meter clear of her previous individual standard, while
Jean Walter (12.97 meters) and
Kerri McCarthy (12.32) each tacked on about a half-meter to their former career best.
Kayley Harnett and
Abigail Pfaff each tied for fifth by clearing 1.50 meters in the high jump.
Gomez-Matos also equaled her career best in the long jump (5.11m).
Zoe Iovino registered a personal best (4.75m).
Edith Gonzalez posted a mark of 10.84 meters in the shot put, and Reilly grabbed a new career best at 10.60 meters.
