PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Zoe Chan and Rachel Hannah each won an individual title and contributed to a first-place relay for the TCNJ women's swimming and diving team on Day 3 of the Metropolitan Conference championships at Rutgers.

Heading into Sunday's finale, the Lions sit in second place in the team standings with 825 points, trailing only Mary Washington (1006).

The Lions started the night with a bang as Cameron Carrazza, Chan, Hannah, and Shannon Hesse edged Mary Washington by .33 seconds for first place in the 200 free relay with a B-cut time of 1:35.33. The time is good for 17th nationally and was only .36 seconds off the program record set in 2010.

Chan defended her 2020 title in the 100 fly with a dominating swim, clocking a 55.62 to outpace the runner-up from Mary Washington by more than a second and a half. In the morning prelims session, Chan finished in 54.95, a personal best and the 7th-fastest time in Division III this season.

Hannah seized her gold medal in the 100 back, cruising to victory with a time of 58.04 that ranked as a new personal best and was 1.31 seconds faster than Rowan's runner-up. Megan Healey won the B-final in 1:00.77, and Sofia Harty was 11th in 1:01.31.

Autumn-Brook Tucker captured silver in the 400 IM, where her time of 4:34.10 was a new personal best and just .12 seconds back of Rowan's Veronica Alferez. Tucker missed the program record, which has stood since 2005, by only .06 seconds.

Hannah, Crispell, Chan, and Jamie Bowne nearly won gold in the 400 medley relay to end the night, settling for runner-up honors and a time of 3:53.69.

Carrazza (1:58.10), Faith Cortright (1:58.40), and Hesse (1:58.95) finished 6-7-8 in the 200 free, and Haley Crispell was eighth in the 100 breast (1:08.19).

METs continues Sunday morning with prelims in the 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, and 200 fly. The finals session includes those events as well as the 1650 free, the 1-meter dive, and the 400 free relay.
