PITMAN, N.J. – TCNJ men's basketball junior guard
Anthony DiCaro was named All-NJAC Second Team on Wednesday morning. The honor is the first of DiCaro's career.
A two-time NJAC Player of the Week in 2021-22, DiCaro was one of the most dynamic players in the league. The All-NJAC Teams are based on conference-only stats, and DiCaro ranked 11
th in the NJAC in scoring in conference games, averaging 14.1 points per game.
DiCaro had two games with more than 30 points, putting up 34 against Drew in November and 37 in a double-overtime victory against Montclair State in December.
He was also one of the most effective point guards in the league, leading all players with 4.9 assists per game. He was also fifth in the NJAC with 1.4 assist-to-turnover ratio. He also ranked ninth in the conference in rebounding from his guard position, averaging 6.2 boards per NJAC game.
DiCaro's best all-around performance of the season came in January at Rowan. He scored 11 points, pulled down 11 rebounds and had 10 assists for TCNJ's first triple-double since 2016. He also posted a double-double on Feb. 2 against Stockton with 27 points and 11 rebounds.
He ranked eighth in the conference with 2.1 three pointers per game, and he was seventh with an 82.4 free throw percentage. DiCaro also played the second-most minutes in NJAC play, averaging 35.9 minutes per game.
