COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Michael Bond's winning run in the 5000 meters was one of the highlights of the TCNJ track and field teams' trip to the Frank Colden Invitational at Ursinus on Saturday.
Bond secured a personal best and jumped to fourth in the NJAC with a time of 15:36.31, and
Chase Miller took runner-up honors at 15:44.34.
John Raisley led a strong effort in the mile with a time of 4:29.48, while
Andrew Chamberlain (4:32.34) and
Michael Iannotta (4:37.19) each secured a personal best.
Brian Micco (9:17.99) and
Steven Mendez (9:18.43) placed sixth and seventh, respectively, in the 3000 meters.
Warlys Lizardo posted a big PR in the weight throw, heaving a toss of 13.33 meters to move up to seventh on the NJAC performance list. He placed sixth overall, with teammate
Brandon Kuse (11.29 meters) in tenth.
The TCNJ women's track and field team's throwers enjoyed plenty of success as part of a small contingent on Saturday.
Edith Gonzalez (11.60 meters) and
Kerri McCarthy (10.90 meters) each posted big PRs in the shot put, and Gonzalez' mark was an ECAC qualifier.
In the weight throw,
Jessica Reilly placed fifth at 13.14 meters and Gonzalez notched another huge personal best at 11.73 meters.
Victoria Purritano was runner-up in the 60-meter hurdles (9.82), while
Erin Buquicchio finished third in the 400 (1:02.62) and fifth in the 200 (27.53).
Jenna Priore finished fourth in the 5000 meters (19:42.95).
