PITMAN, N.J. – Justin Wain was named the NJAC East Division men's tennis player of the week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Wain was sensational in a 2-0 week for the Lions, who continued to remain unblemished in duals with victories over Washington College and NYU.
On Friday against the Shoremen, Wain handled Landon Strober, 6-0, 6-3, at No. 2 singles and paired with
Matthew Michibata for an 8-3 victory over Karl Hoegstedt and Andrew Smith at No. 1 doubles.
Wain came back on Saturday and made a successful season debut at the number one singles slot with a 6-4, 6-3 defeat of NYU's Alex Yang. Wain and Michibata downed Yang and Ryan Shayani by an 8-4 measure at first doubles.
The player of the week award was the third of Wain's career.
