PRINCETON, N.J. – Kevin Christensen's remarkable performance in the 3,000-meter steeplechase gave the TCNJ men's track and field team a significant highlight on the first day of competition at Princeton's Larry Ellis Invitational on Friday.

Christensen vaulted all the way to fourth on the school's all-time list with a 9:12.03, a career best by more than 17 seconds. The time is good for sixth in all of Division III this season.

Stuart Gruters was just off his PR in the steeplechase, finishing in 9:28.74.

Jack Ennis knocked more than 10 seconds off his PR in the 5000 meters, clocking a 15:04.58 to jump to third in the NJAC and eighth in the Metro Region.

Alex Amoia (1:56.86) and Roman Rychkov (1:56.88) went step-for-step in the 800 meters; both already ranked among the top-10 in the NJAC in the event.

Andrew Ellis posted a throw of 47.14 meters in the javelin.
