Men's T&F Hosts Outdoor Invitational

EWING, NJ. - The TCNJ men's track and field team put up some impressive marks at its home opener on Saturday.

Tyrese Gilbert snagged PRs in both the 200 meters (23.80) and the 400 meters (52.42). 

In the 100 meters, Thomas Domozych (11.03) and Raymond Schmitt (11.12) registered new PRs for third- and fifth-place finishes. Tyler Scott's time of 11.15 was good for sixth place. 

Steven Mendez's time of 16:05.15 in the 5000 meters secured him a fourth-place finish. Brian Micco (16:18.15) and Mart Villanueva (16:30.55) finished eighth and 11th, respectively. 

Jack Ennis took first in the 1500 with a time of 4:00.17 followed closely by Stuart Gruters in second with a new PR of 4:00.75. Michael Rodriguez (4:01.99), Kevin Christensen (4:02.02), and Gabriel Calandri (4:06.77) occupied the fourth through sixth spots.  

Christensen also took second place in the 800 with a PR of 1:58.65. Fabian Mestanza's time of 2:00.38 was good for sixth place. 

Roman Rychkov finished in second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 49.53. Brett Schuett's time of 51.44 was good for sixth place, and Gilbert logged a new PR of 52.42 for an eighth-place finish. 

Ryan Bussanich's sixth-place finish in the 110 meter hurdles secured him a new PR of 17.26. 

In the field, Jahmir Anderson's jump of 1.85 meters in the high jump got him third place. 

Zachary Mackiewicz marked a new PR in discus with a throw of 47.39 meters for first place alongside a PR in hammer throw (42.45m) for second. Also in hammer, Warlys Lizardo threw a PR of 42.03 meters for a third-place finish. 

Andrew Ellis's throw of 52.84 meters in javelin earned him a first-place finish and a new PR. Alexander Bogues followed with a throw of 49.05 meters for a fourth-place finish. 

The Lions will be back next week at the Osprey Open at Stockton University.
