CHESTER, Pa. – Jack Ennis ran one of the best 5,000 meters in program in program history as the TCNJ men's track and field team kicked off the Widener Invitational on Friday night.
Ennis turned in a sensational performance, crossing the finish line in 14:42.11 to edge Rowan's Jeffrey Stewart by about three seconds for first place. It was a personal best by more than 20 seconds and ranks third on the program's all-time performance list.
Pat Mulligan cracked the 15-minute barrier for the first time with a 14:59.40, with
Michael Bond (15:00.19) and
Chase Miller (15:01.38) nearly joining him with big personal bests of their own.
Benjamin Fanta's 15:11.61 was also a career-best time.
Zachary Mackiewicz added a tenth of a meter to his personal best in the discus, placing third with a toss of 48.34 meters and edging closer to third place on TCNJ's all-time list.
Brandon Kuse shattered his previous best by more than two meters with a throw of 41.99 meters, and
Warlys Lizardo tacked on a little more than a half-meter to his collegiate best at 41.19 meters.
Stephen Daramola just eclipsed his previous PR with a mark of 14.32 meters to place sixth in the shot put, and also took seventh in the discus (44.58m).
