EWING, N.J. – The TCNJ men's track and field team wrapped up the regular season and tuned up for the NJAC championships with a solid all-around performance at the Lions Outdoor Invitational on Saturday.
At the conclusion of the meet, the Lions honored their senior class as part of Senior Meet festivities.
Andrew Lodge led a strong effort in the 200-meter dash with a second-place finish (21.99), with
Tyler Scott's fourth-place time of 22.16 serving as a new PR.
Brett Schuett secured a new personal best at 22.44 seconds and
Justin Gomez clocked a 22.85.
Roman Rychkov was runner-up in the 400-meter dash at 49.79 seconds, with Schuett in fourth at 50.14.
Alex Amoia (50.75) and
Tyrese Gilbert (51.22) posted new PRs sandwiched around
Jason Engler's 51.14.
Tom Domozych placed third in the 100-meter dash, where Gomez tallied a career-best 11.14.
Engler grabbed a PR in the 110-meter hurdles (15.52), finishing sixth overall.
Sean Burtnett headlined the 800-meter crew with a 1:56.58, with
Stuart Gruters (1:57.73) and
John Raisley (1:59.04) bookending
Michael Rodriguez (1:58.74) with career bests.
Tyler Balas (4:03.65) and
Andrew Chamberlain (4:07.07) each nabbed a personal best in the 1500 meters.
Brian Micco was runner-up in the 3000 meters (15:58.35) and
Christopher Strain placed fourth in the steeplechase (10:29.60).
Zachary Mackiewicz placed seventh in the discus at 46.61 meters.
George Agyei-Sam finished ninth in the shot put, where his personal-best mark of 14.18 meters ranks just outside the top-10 in program history.
Luke Schrank-Garcia (12.63m) and
Brandon Kuse (12.22m) also competed for the Lions.
Andrew Ellis paced the javelin throwers with a toss of 50.43 meters, with
Alexander Bogues (48.74m) and
Jonnathan Moreira (47.26) also in the mix.
Warlys Lizardo's mark of 41.17 meters was the best of the day for TCNJ.
Andrew Gratti, Engler, Amoia, and Burtnett were runners-up in the 4x400-meter relay (3:25.61).
The track and field teams host the NJAC outdoor championships next Saturday and Sunday.
