POMONA, N.J. – Michael Bond's individual victory in the 5,000 meters headlined a strong all-around performance for the men's track and field team on the second and final day of competition at Stockton's Osprey Open and Multi.
Bond led a parade of top finishers in the 5,000 meters, crossing the line in 15:12.56 for a massive PR and a comfortable victory ahead of a cavalcade of Lions. Pat Mulligan took second in 15:20.88, while
Chase Miller was third (15:25.02), just a footstep ahead of
Gabriel Calandri and his 15-second PR (15:25.10).
John Raisley was fourth in the 1500 meters (4:12.82).
Andrew Lodge finished runner-up with a time of 49.88 in the 400-meter dash, where
Brett Schuett took seventh (51.38).
Alex Amoia was runner-up in the 800 (1:56.19), finishing just ahead of teammate
Roman Rychkov (1:56.78) in third.
Dan Sullivan's 2:03.97 was a PR by more than two seconds.
Lodge and Rychkov also bookended the 4x400-meter relay, joining
Tyler Scott and Schuett to win the race in a time of 3:19.45, good for second in the Metro Region this spring.
Scott (11.76) and Schmitt (23.04) also ran the 100- and 200-meter dash, respectively.
Ryan Bussanich completed the 110-meter hurdles in 17.88 seconds and logged a huge PR in the 400 hurdles, finishing in 1:03.44 to lower his previous standard by more than two seconds.
Stephen Daramola uncorked a personal-best toss of 14.29 meters to place sixth in the shot put.
Luke Schrank-Garcia was just off his PR at 13.18 meters.
Daniel Gleason posted a mark of 5.87 meters in the long jump.
