BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Andrew Lodge led a host of place-winners with a career-best performance in the 400-meter dash as the TCNJ men's track and field team finished fifth at the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference Championship on Thursday at Moravian.
Lodge shot up the all-time charts with a career effort in the 400-meter dash, shaving nearly a half-second off his PR to win his heat and place sixth overall with a time of 48.49 seconds. The time moved Lodge all the way up to fourth on TCNJ's outdoor performance list.
Brett Schuett's 49.53 was also a PR and landed him just outside scoring range in ninth.
Tom Domozych,
Justin Gomez,
Tyler Scott, and
Ray Schmitt placed fifth in the 4x100-meter relay (42.01).
Alex Amoia was sixth in the 800 meters at 1:54.78, where
Roman Rychkov finished in 1:55.62 and
Sean Burtnett notched a 1:56.26.
Michael Rodriguez nicked more than two seconds off his personal best in the 1500 meters, placing eighth with a time of 3:55.32 that narrowly missed cracking the all-time program top-10.
Tyler Balas also notched a PR, cracking the 4-minute barrier for the first time with a 3:59.62.
Scott clocked a 22.02 in the 100-meter dash.
John Raisley,
Dan Sullivan,
Michael Brown, and Burtnett completed the 4x800-meter relay in 8:23.61.
Stephen Daramola posted a throw of 13.67 meters in the shot put.
The Lions now await the announcement of NCAA qualifiers on Friday night.
