GENEVA, OHIO – Kevin Christensen capped his breakout campaign with a 14
th-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the NCAA Outdoor Championships on Thursday.
Making his NCAA debut, Christensen completed the course in 9:14.56 to take eighth in his 10-man heat. He was just two slots away from qualifying for Saturday's final.
Christensen was the first Lion to compete at the NCAA outdoor meet since 2016, qualifying thanks to a big effort at the Penn Relays; he posted the third-best time in school history (9:07.87) to crack the national top-20 and punch his ticket to nationals. Christensen won the 1500 meters and placed runner-up to teammate
Stuart Gruters in the steeplechase at the NJAC Outdoor Championship.
