Lions Lead With 242 Selections to NJAC All-Academic Team

2021-22 NJAC All-Academic Team

PITMAN, N.J. – TCNJ led the way with a whopping 242 honorees as the NJAC released its 2021-22 All-Academic Team on Tuesday.

The Lions headlined a league-record total of 1,248 student-athletes named to the squad, which recognizes sophomores, juniors, and seniors who competed in a conference-sponsored sport while achieving a minimum grade point average of 3.20.

Additionally, each of the league's 10 full member institutions select their first- and second-team All-Academic honorees. TCNJ chose Jaclyn Carifi (softball) and Bryan Tran (men's swimming and diving) to the first team, and Jennifer LaRocca (women's lacrosse) and Justin Wain (men's tennis) to the second team.

An accounting major with a 3.97 GPA, Carifi was a second-team All-NJAC and first-team all-region performer this spring, also earning CoSIDA Academic All-District recognition. Tran graduated with a 3.97 GPA in mechanical engineering.

A mechanical engineering major who graduated with a 3.97 GPA, LaRocca was the NJAC Attack Player of the Year and a first-team All-American this spring, leading the women's lacrosse team to the NCAA semifinals. Wain, meanwhile, posted a 3.20 GPA in computer science and was named the NJAC East Division Player of the Year.
