CLINTON, N.Y. – Jenny Landells and
Charlotte Roarty fell one match short of qualifying for ITA nationals in doubles, dropping a hard-fought match to a premier pairing from NYU in the semifinals of the Northeast Regional championship on Sunday.
National qualifiers last fall, Landells and Roarty won three matches over the course of Friday and Saturday to set up a semifinal showdown with the Violets' Dakota Fordham and Ida Krause. Meeting for the second time in as many weekends, the NYU tandem punched their ticket to nationals with an 8-4 victory before handling their opponents from RPI in the straight sets to claim the regional crown.
The ITA Northeast Regional concluded the women's tennis team's fall slate. TCNJ put all three of its doubles teams into the second round, and
Aira Abalos and
Anusha Rangu were quarterfinalists.
