EWING, N.J. – The TCNJ women's swimming and diving team lost the home opener dual meet to No. 17 Swarthmore, 196-63, on Saturday afternoon.
Freshman standout
Lilliana Kuball continued her stellar start to her collegiate career by leading the Lions (0-2) to a pair of golden finishes against the nationally ranked Garnet (4-0).
STELLAR RACES
- Kuball took the win for the Lions in the 100 breast with a stellar time of 1:08.50. The freshman followed with a third-place finish in the 200 breast by clocking a 2:32.86.
- Senior Captain Sarah Burton took third in the 500 free with a stellar time of 5:23.67, and also took fourth in the 200 free with a time of 2:02.13, edging out freshman teammate Katie Mazzacco who rounded out the top-five with her time of 2:03.82.
- Freshman Bridget Cleveland clocked a runner up finish in the 50 free with her time of 25.96, which narrowly edged out teammate Mackenzie Wall's third-place time of 26.29. The freshman also earned a pair of top-five finishes in the 100 back and 100 free with her times of 1:03.57 and 56.28, respectively, to place fifth in both.
- In the 200 fly, sophomore Nisha Narayanan earned a top-three finish with her time of 2:26.51 to place third.
- TCNJ closed out the meet on top in the 200 Free Relay, as the quartet of Wall, Kuball, Cleveland and Mazzacco edged out the Garnet with a time of 1:41.78 for first place.
UP NEXT
The Lions return to the pool on November 11th to take on Ramapo in a road matchup at 2 p.m. Traveling separately, the TCNJ divers will compete at West Chester starting at 10 a.m.
