Kuball Shines in Women’s Swimming and Diving Season Opener at Salisbury

10/7/2023 8:47:00 PM

SALISBURY, MD. – The TCNJ women's swimming and diving team fell 78-184 in their season opener at Salisbury Saturday afternoon.

With multiple first-year swimmers showing out, the Lions won two individual events and one relay while also snapping one Maggs Pool record to kick off their 2023-24 campaign in the pool.

While TCNJ typically competes in pools with lengths of 25 yards, the Seagulls' pool instead featured a longer length of 25 meters, thus resulting in what might appear to be slower than usual times.

STELLAR RACES
  • In the 200 Free, sophomore Bridget Cleveland placed third with a time of 2:20.46.
  • Junior captain Colleen Scanlon finished second in the 50 Back with a time of 32.95 seconds.
  • Freshman Lilliana Kuball dominated the 50 Breast with the top time of 33.80, which subsequently also set a new Maggs Pool record.
  • The 50 Free saw fellow freshman Katie Mazzacco place second with a time of 28.77, as she was narrowly edged out for first by a mere nine hundredths of a second.

  • The 100 Back saw Cleveland finish second with time of 1:11.52.
