PITMAN, N.J. – A pair of TCNJ student athletes were selected for this week's NJAC award honors, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
Freshman
David Alexandre repeated as Rookie of the Week for men's basketball, while fellow freshman
Grace Kowalski was named for her first ever Rookie of the Week honor for women's hoops.
MEN'S BASKETBALL
Alexandre scored nine points in last week's 75-68 victory over Rutgers-Camden. He went 6-of-8 from the foul line and hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with just over 11 minutes remaining and the game tied at 51. Alexandre also added three rebounds and an assist.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Kowalski went off for a season-high 26 points and dished out eight assists in Tuesday's 114-55 win over Rutgers-Camden. The first-year guard was 10-for-13 from the field, including 4-of-5 from 3-point range, and did not commit a single turnover in helping the Lions post their highest single-game scoring output in more than 30 years. Kowalski also recorded a pair of steals and grabbed two rebounds.
