NEW YORK, N.Y.- The TCNJ women's indoor track team opened the 2023-'24 at the TCNJ Indoor Open on Saturday with a handful of athletes qualifying for regionals.

Kayley Harnett finished second in the high jump event while qualifying for regionals after clearing the mark of 1.57 meters.

Edith Gonzalez qualified for regionals in the shot put in the season opener with a mark of 12.13 meters.

Freshman Emerson Dirk had an impressive debut at the TCNJ winter open as she qualified for regionals in the pole vault, clearing the bar set at 3.3 meters high. This also earned her second place for the event.

Mackenzie Burke was the last Lion to qualify for regionals after her fifth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 7.99 seconds.

Emily Diszler was another Lions thrower to have a solid season opener; she finished second in the weight throw after hitting a mark of 13.24 meters.

Sophomore
Kelly O'Grady picked up where she left off last season with a third-place finish in the 600-meter run, crossing the finish line at 1:39.56.

The 4x400-meter team of O'Grady, Burke,
Amanda Demko and Rukiyat Daranijo earned the Blue & Gold third place in the event with a time of 4:09.57.

The Lions are back in action next Saturday at Princeton University as they compete in the Joe Handelman Invitational.
