Roarty Reaches 100 Wins as Women's Tennis Dominates Diplomats

3/4/2023 3:32:00 PM

Box Score EWING, N.J. – Charlotte Roarty registered the 100th win of her career as part of the No. 39 women's tennis team's convincing 9-0 shutout of visiting Franklin & Marshall on Saturday.

Roarty ran her sparkling career record to 100-23 (43-9 in singles and 57-14 in doubles) with wins at No. 1 doubles and No. 1 singles, putting a bow on another dominant effort for the Lions against a perennial Centennial Conference playoff qualifier.

After Chase Eisenberg and Alexa Vasile cruised to an 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles and Aira Abalos and Anusha Rangu followed shortly after with an 8-2 victory at No. 3, Roarty and longtime partner Jenny Landells pulled out an 8-5 decision over Cassidy Landau and Sammi Perry to get the star senior within one of the century mark.

She wasted little time getting there, routing Landau by a 6-2, 6-0 count on the top singles court to officially reach triple figures for her stellar career.

Roarty's win was a fitting clincher for TCNJ, which got a 6-0, 6-0 double bagel from Rangu at No. 4 just earlier.

Abalos was a 6-1, 6-1 winner at No. 2 singles, while Landells cruised 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6 and Vasile won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3. Eisenberg was only slightly less dominant, scoring a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 5.

The Lions get right back on the court with a match against RIT on Sunday.
