EWING, N.J. – The TCNJ women's tennis team are set to face off against the Cairn Highlanders in round one of the 2023 NCAA Tournament, as revealed by the Selection Show on Monday.
While the reveal itself was a stress-free one for the Lions, who had already clinched an automatic qualifier spot after sweeping NJCU on Saturday for the program's 40th consecutive conference title, the selection show revealed the Lions newest NCAA Tournament opponent, Cairn, as well as the date of the match which is on Friday, May 5. The first two rounds will be hosted by Wesleyan University in Middletown, Ct.
Cairn (10-5) clinched an automatic bid of their own after winning the CSAC (Colonial States Athletic Conference) Championship this past Saturday. The Highlanders swept Clarks Summit University, 5-0, to take their conference crown.
With a win, the Lions will take on Mary Washington in the second round on Saturday, May 6.
