NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – Four TCNJ lacrosse players earned selection to the 2023 IWLCA Division III All-American teams, announced Wednesday afternoon by the organization. Junior attack Ally Tobler was named to the First Team. Senior defense Wayden Ay and junior goalie Julia Charest were named to the Second Team, and senior attack Anna Devlin was named to the Third Team.
Tobler is a First Team selection for the first time after earning Third Team All-America honors in 2022. She was also named the NJAC Attack Player of the Year and a Third Team All-American by USA Lacrosse Magazine. She finished the season with an NJAC-leading 69 goals, finishing 35th in the country in that stat. She also led the conference with 80 points.
Ay earns her second-straight IWLCA All-American honor, jumping from the Third Team in 2022 to a Second Team selection this year. She was a First Team All-Boardwalk Region selection for the third consecutive year. Ay was also named Second Team All-America from USA Lacrosse Magazine. On the conference level, she was named NJAC Defensive Player of the Year for the second-straight year and First Team All-NJAC for the third time.
Charest's selection to the All-America team is the first of her career from the IWLCA, and she was also named the NJAC Goaltender of the Year and an All-America Honorable Mention by USA Lacrosse Magazine. She finished the season ranked 13th in the nation in goals-against average, holding opponents to just 7.58 per game. She also ranked 23rd in the nation in saves percentage at .519.
Devlin also earned her first IWLCA All-America award with her Third Team selection in 2023. She was named USA Lacrosse Magazine First Team All-America while also garnering a national player of the week award from them earlier this month. Devlin was also named All-NJAC First Team. Devlin finished 2023 with 130 draw controls, setting a new TCNJ record and breaking her own mark of 128 from last year. She also finished her career with 345 draw controls, a new TCNJ record.
The IWLCA is a membership-led, professional association representing the nation's intercollegiate women's lacrosse coaches within Division I, II & III of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). Currently there are over 500 institutional members and over 1,200 coaches and staff at NCAA Division I, Division II, Division III, and NAIA collegiate programs.
